S.M.R. was started with the one goal of helping people learn and investigate what mushrooms are all about and give them the advantage of not having to go into the country side to find them, but to have the ability to order their spores on-line with security and confidence. S.M.R. provides what we consider to be the best product available. S.M.R. does not sell client mailing lists and protects our customers privacy.
For those without experience in mushrooms, an excellent field guide for obtaining information about practically any species of mushroom is the National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Mushrooms, ISBN #0-394-81992-2. This guide has 762 full-color photographs of different species of mushrooms, and descriptions of 703 different species covered in full detail. The guide is authored by Gary H. Lincoff, president of the North American Mycological Association, and is an instructor at the New York Botanical Garden. This book is an invaluable research aid to both the novice and experienced mushroom investigator. If you cannot locate one of these books locally, you might try searching on ebay where you can probably find one at a reasonable price.
